It’s lunch break here at work…
I popped upstairs for 15 minutes as we have a gym upstairs at work. Work colleagues had all donated gym equipment from their homes .. it is such a wonderful idea!
I am just getting to grips with using a treadmill. I walked at 3 mph for 10 minutes then decided to start taking the first step towards jogging properly for the first time in 20 years. Taking it easy and carefully I did just one minute and sweated like a pig….but hey it’s a start and may well have burned a few extra calories.
Tomorrow I’ll do 2 minutes, then 3 minutes, then 4 minutes and eventually 1 km by October 1st.
And now I’m eating spinach leaves, tomatoes and kidney beans sprinkled with some chopped basil from our work place vegetable garden. I never grow tired of eating healthy food…
Well done you! One again you inspire me and all the time I take one day at a time and I know like you Ill get there.

It’s a slippery slope, my friend! That’s how I started, many years ago, just a minute at a time. Ba-bing, Ba-bam, one day I was entered into a 10km race. Life is full of possibilities!
That’s amazing!!! It never ceases top amaze me what people can achieve! Well done you!! xxxx I REALLY want to run again…. at school (30 years ago!!) in junior high especially, I was a long distance runner and competed in many cross country championships (never winning anything of course but its the taking part that counts right??)…. so it’s in my genes somewhere that I can run. It will be awesome to do a 5k one day!! For now just jogging for a minute is good enough for me until tomorrow 🙂 Tee hee xxx
Congrats! This is a big deal, believe me, I’ve been there. A program that worked for me (though I didn’t finish it for my own slacker reasons) is c25K. If you google it, there’s tons of websites. Good luck!!!!
