Stepping back for a while

Dear all, I didn’t just want to leave the blog hanging without an explanation. Everything is OK but I am taking a step back from all my personal social channels including YouTube and my blog. There are a number of reasons including feeling weary/exhausted with maintaining everything in addition to working a full time job and having carer commitments. But mostly I need to focus on myself and my immediate well being and career and financial goals if ever I am to move forward and provide security for myself.

This is not a permanent step-back. This is rather taking control of my life, recognising that things are a bit much for me right now and it is OK to take time out for a while and not feel guilty.

My initial thoughts were a 2-3 week break but I recognise now that I need longer to regroup.

I’ll not be updating the blog until September the 1st, nor my social channels and YouTube.

I then will be returning with energy and passion for the subject I love so much.

I’m still dropping into my Facebook Group 4 or 5 times a day to see if there are any admin duties and to read some of the posts but Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, Pinterest, my Facebook pages and my blog will not be uploaded with any recipes/content etc.

Sending much love and good thoughts, thank you for messages, I will be replying in September after having a proper break.

See you in September, C xxxxx

  6. Good Morning Carolyn,
    Please do not reply!
As a self-employed person I understand only too well there is nothing worse that the combination of self-pressure and perfectionism which ends up, as Bene Brown described it so aptly as twenty-ton shield that we lug around with us thinking it will protect us, when in fact, it’s the thing that’s really preventing us from taking flight.
So take this time to rest, do not put pressure on yourself to return on 1st September, returning only, if, and when you are ready. In the meantime enjoy as much of your life as you can, take time to rest, slow down and enjoy the ‘glimmers’ of happiness that bring a fleeting smile to our faces like the flowers in your own or other’s gardens, a bird having a bath, a bright yellow dandelion or a daisy growing in the crack of a pavement, watching the bees or butterflies, pause and allow yourself time to be restored by those mindful moments. Enjoying doing what you love doing most in your non-working time.
Take the greatest of care Carolyn,
    With much love,
    Frances

  9. It takes a wise person to recognise that they need to rest and regroup from time to time. I hope you enjoy your Summer, if Summer ever arrives here in the UK that is, and take this much needed time for yourself. See you in the Autumn. xx

  11. Do what you need to do for you. I always love to read any updates you have, but I know I couldn’t keep up what you do. I can’t wait for your update on just life in general even, when you can. 🙂

  12. Hi Carolyn, completely understand and thank you for the update. It’s so important to look after yourself and your needs (and so easy to forget to!). I hope that you’re having a good summer break x

  13. Dear Carolyn,

Thank you very much for your content and all the nice downloads on this blog. I like reading it and learn from it. In a strange way your blog starts fitting into current world developments and becomes interesting also from that angle. I think you are also a courageous woman for sharing your issue with overeating. I know how you feel and many others do, too. Thank you for your honesty – when you’re happy and when you’re not sometimes. I personally found my peace in Jesus Christ. Have a good time off and I’m looking forward to reading from you again.

  14. You take care of you, don’t worry about us lot, you have done more than enough for us, take as long as you like, love and best wishes x
