Tough times

Sorry I’ve been quiet… a LOT has been preoccupying my mind in the past few weeks. I have such a big story to tell that I desperately need to share because it has put my family and I through such awful anxiety (and risk) .. I feel I can’t keep quiet about it much longer. Life isn’t black and white- it’s bloody grey too and that is where we fall. We are NOT a number, we are a family..

I’m not sure how we will get through, I’ve got to the stage now where I’m crumbling and am finding it hard to be the strong one anymore with the new added pressures imposed on us by current restrictions in the country I have so fondly called home for the past 8 years,  where ALL our friends and life has been, everywhere we turn there is no help, I’m doing my best. We are still in limbo…

I’m putting my house up for sale ASAP and having to sell it for 50k under market value just to try and sell it quickly before we are conveniently discarded…

I’m tearful, I’m angry, I’m worried, I’m scared and I’m so very, very tired..

Please forgive my rant but I need to vent… all we ever wanted was to work hard, support our community and help others…

  4. Carolyn, I’m so sorry to hear that your situation has gotten even more difficult. I really hope that things are resolved soon and that you can go back to working and enjoying your life here instead of dealing with so much stress and negative energy. Best of luck!

  5. Sorry things haven’t worked out in your favour. I see you’re really down at the thought of moving back to the UK but hey, it’s not that bad here!
The self-sufficiency lifestyle is more popular than its been in years, and you are such fun that you will make new friends in no time as well as rediscover old ones. I remember your old blog from when you lived in Wales. Property prices are still low there, and pretty muck everywhere outside of the cities.
Don’t think of it as leaving your new home, you’re just coming back to your old one xx

  7. I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. Whenever things get rough, I believe we are all entitled to crumble, cry, feel sad and retreat to our own corner of comfort. Soon, though, you’ll feel better to tackle things that come your way with a renewed strength. Just hang in there! As many said, you’re a strong woman. I’m sure you will do your best.

  10. So sorry Carolyn. I hope things start to sort out for you soon. Living in the UK, I don’t think we fully understand whats its like living elsewhere. I suppose that is why its getting so full here. There are many more here now trying to live your style of life. Its liberating.

    Thinking of you all xxx

  11. It’s so sad … you say that all you ever wanted was to support your community, and we can all see that this was the case. You have volunteered and given of yourself over and over. It must be hard not to feel rejected now. I’m sure you have the support of many actual members of your community though. And, of course, your readership. At least you can’t lose us: we will be with you wherever you are!

  13. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY VERY MUCH ❤ I've had such a bad couple of days emotionally over this but this afternoon I think I have turned a corner. While I more than anything want to stay here if life takes me on another journey then so be it…. I so so appreciate your kind words and thoughts and you have helped me so much with these. Sorry I sound so emotional but sometimes you have to reach out and vent and break down a little to see the light….now I've got to try and be practical and positive. Love you so much xxxx

  15. Carolyn it is heartbreaking to see you suffering. You have always seemed so strong, I wonder if this is another life challenge that will make you stronger, though I know it can hurt like hell when going through it.
I take so much strength and courage from the people of the 40’s in UK, reading their stories and thinking about their experiences has helped me so much.
But know that there are so many of us whose thoughts are with you and gaawwwd, feel free to vent anytime you want, that’s what we are all here for, to share your experiences, positive and negative.
    luv ya.
    KC.
