Pushing through self-consciousness.

Woke up to a lovely e-mail this morning which has given me some much needed encouragement to persevere with the video recipes (thank you Kim)

I did a couple a year or so ago but am so insecure about my constantly changing body size I find it difficult to persevere with things like this (self-conscious) but love doing them so what the hell!

Here is a wartime recipe for padded pudding I did back in 2016. Have plans to start doing some regular video recipes online again end of September and also put some effort into including some interesting WW2 info, aim for 1 or 2 a month…

  1. Hi Carolyn,
Ive just watched your video on mock padded pudding and with regards to your insecurity you really needn’t worry you look absolutely lovely and you have that happy aura about you that reminds me of marguerite pattens enthusiasm so please carry on with your videos and your wonderful recipes as I look forward to reading every morning lol, you’ve well surpassed your 100 recipes as originally planned I’m glad to say and I’m loving them all!!! Keep smiling and carry on! ✌🏻☺️ Xx

  2. I’m a new follower, but I wanted to thank you for your recipes and say please don’t feel self-conscious. Women are constantly bombarded with impossible images of “beautiful ” perfect people, and it’s (pardon me) bullsh*t. You are authentic, warm, genuine and healthy. These are truly things to aspire to. You are a terrific role model. Thank you. More videos, please!

  3. https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.jsHi Caroline,

I have been following your blogs for so long now…..I am a complete 1940’s lover, even though I was born 20 some years after the start….I think I was born into the wrong era!…..wouldn’t have minded it too if I didn’t have to live through the actual war….mind you I get lots of info on how it was from my father in law who served in Burma & my parents (sadly no longer with me) who lived as children through it.

Its for the first time I have watched a video post of yours…..loved it…..nevermind your changing shape you were made to do this….I too am struggling with weight gain-loss-gain the never ending cycle but you have given me a really big boost to crack on and get serious…especially since my hubby has just been diagnosed with raised cholesterol….guessing mines high too! Many hugs

  4. I loved your video. I get the self conscious part – all of it from how you look to how the food looks. I’ve learned over the last 40 some years that quite often the best things come in imperfect packages, especially when it comes to food. You would definitely be someone I’d love to get to know.
