Weigh-in March 5, 2016 -doing great!

Am happy!

Every day I’m keeping a food diary and my eating has been under control 100% for at least 10 days now and I’ve now lost 22 lbs in the last 2 months. I’m reducing sensibly but strictly at the moment as losing weight is a priority as is eating lots of good nutritious foods. I’m supplementing my diet with milled flax seed on my daily porridge as well as two flax seed oil capsules and a vitamin D tablet and a handful of walnuts or almonds. I’m getting plenty of calcium and protein through my food and am really beginning to feel quite good even though I’m 274 lbs (19 stone 8 lbs) and have 78 lbs to lose to get to my first goal.

Hope you enjoy my 5 minute video diary, there are shout outs to a few people on there including a little more info on what I eat on a daily basis at the moment.

  1. I just said to Darrell how much I miss having you here. These video blogs are such a sweet way for me to hear and see you. Great progress on the weight loss. I’m down to a size 12 from the 16/18 I was at when you were here. Careful eating and lots of swimming.have been my course of action. Like the soldiers of the days if you’re we trudge along.

    • Wow that is absolutely Amazing!!!! Would love to be a size twelve…infact I’d be more than very happy with a size 18!!! Barb – I think with the internet distance doesn’t seem such a long way away anymore…which is good because it’s horrid missing people and places. Hope all’s well – C xxxx

  3. That’s good to hear, Carolyn. I think I’ll go back to keeping meticulous records also, taking guesses or ignoring the food-plan altogether isn’t working for me!
(According to a questionnaire I did, 1400 calories a day will maintain status quo for me, so I really have to plan nutrition and calories carefully to reduce.)
    Best wishes.

  4. Well done, you are looking really well. You are such a pleasure to follow, loved the pink china so lovely to drink and eat from such lovely ware. Keep up the good work, i have just started my diet diary hope it works for me! Have spent the morning looking back at some of your recipies, cant wait to go and start cooking some. Have a good week and thank you for inspiring me xx

  5. Carolyn, you are such an inspiration. I need to lose 60 lbs. because my knees are quite painful and my doctor tells me that each extra one lb puts three lbs force on the knees when I walk. So since I would like to avoid knee replacement surgery if possible, I have this task which feels impossible until I read what you have done, turning it into an interesting and absorbing occupation with the ration diet. I’ve been obsessed with all the details of daily life during World War II for years, and you are really amazing in the way you have re-created all the good parts of that anxious time. Thanks for being you!
And by the way, you look just beautiful.
