Recipes and running

Made sure I got up early this morning as lots to do. I’ve done the laundry, the washing up and semi-cleaned the kitchen and I’m heating the oven up because Sunday is always bake day! That means more 1940s recipes and lots of wonderful smells…

So while the oven is heating up I’m taking the opportunity to enjoy my breakfast of a cuppa hot tea and Marmite on toast (I eat oatmeal for breakfast everyday except Saturdays and Sundays) and flicking through some recipes books to see if there is something that catches my eye to re-create.

Keep an eye out later today for some new recipes. If you are subscribed to my blog (and I see over 200 of you are), you will be alerted when a new recipe appears.

Weigh-in is on Tuesday morning. I’ve ate well and worked hard this week and I hope it shows on the scales, as to achieve my goal of losing 100 lbs by October 1st 2012, I need to currently be losing 4 lbs a week. Seems impossible at this moment in time but I’m going to give it my best shot while ensuring I’m eating enough AND consuming all the nutrients, iron and protein etc I should. It’s important to remain strong and feel good.

To give me the best possible chance of getting to my goal AND to set a physical challenge that currently also seems impossible I’m going to do a 5K run in September before my life may have to change. I’ve only just started doing some light jogging in short bursts but I think if one REALLY wants to succeed at something they can do it.

Thanks to my friend Matt and the wonderful British National Health Service, I’ve downloaded the “Couch to 5K” podcast and I start training, first thing tomorrow morning, at the awesome HB Studio sports track here in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

I’m currently looking for a 5K run to participate in mid-September so if anyone knows of one, preferably on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, please let me know

Catch ya later with some recipes!
