Latest before and after photos…

Finally I can see a difference…comparing the 315 lb photo to the 267 lb photo I’ve become a little smaller… I can see it!!! Such a long way to go but this is really encouraging!!

Things I MUST sort out- bras that fit! Hoist those puppies back up where they should be……

  1. Big difference! Looking good 🙂 I really like Playtex 18 hour classic bra. Comfy, wireless and gives more of a classic 40’s silhouette.

  2. Thanks!!! I want pert boosies!!! OK so they will never be pert in real life but a fancy bra would make them look that way 🙂 I’ll check that Playtex one out!! 🙂 C xxx

  3. Go to corsetiere and have a fitting. Any store that specializes in lengerie should have someone. They are experts on helping you get the perfect bra. You don’t have to buy your bras there but they will give you good information about what to look for in a good bra for your size. A lot of times getting the right size and style is much more important than the brand.

    • That sounds like a great plan!! I know that I’ll probably have to buy new bras a few more times over this coming year but they should at least offer some support and comfort and getting fitted properly should offer that 🙂 Thanks Mary! C xxx

    • I think I’ll have to buy something more suitable… am still wearing the bras that fit me at 315lbs and they just don’t support anything as they are now way too loose. Thanks for the suggestions! C xxx

  4. You are looking good Caroline. I especially notice your loss around your stomach and your face has more definition. In fact you are looking good all over. I hope that 2012 you manage to complete your weight loss challenge.

    • Thanks Margaret!!! I like that you’ve said you can notice a difference around my stomach! That is the most hideous area for me- it ain’t pretty! LOL. Appreciate your kind thoughts- C xx

  5. You can really tell the difference, well done you! and yes I got fitted with a bra last year (was still wearing smaller ones – hoping to slim back into them 🙂 .. um wasn’t working) and it made me feel better almost immediately

    • So many people are recommending a good fitted bra that I know it must be important not only for comfort but to keep things pointing in the right direction!! I’ll do it!! LOL- Thanks xxxxxxxxxx C

  6. Ditto on getting a proper bra fitting……stats are 9 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong size bra. This was proven to me when our weight loss class went to Sears for bra fittings……there were 10 of us, and, you guessed it, 9 of us had the wrong size! What a difference it makes when your bra fits!
Congrats on your courage and perseverance, and your success because of that!
    Cynthia

  7. YAY for you! Wow what an achievement. Your skin even looks more glowing. Definitely thinking about doing this myself–overweight diabetic and one tablet away from insulin. I need to do something and you’ve now inspired me 🙂

      • That’s why I am so taken with the eating plan during the 1940s… they cut meat and dairy right back to small portions and focused more on getting most of their nutrition from plants/fruit/vegetables/wholefoods. The most extensive nutritional study undertaken on the plant EVER (The China Study) has proved that a low animal protein diet (so basically cutting animal protein/dairy down to 5% or less of your food intake) coupled with lots of healthy veggies/fruits/grains/wholefoods protects against cancers, heart disease, diabetes etc reversing many of the effects too…… “Let food be our medicine”….. 8. Hi, there, Ms Akins, you are my personal heroine. 🙂 The weight loss is very obvious in the picture and inspires the rest of us.

I’ve thought that the British Wartime Rations was a Miracle Diet for a long time. It’s inspiring to see someone succeed so beautifully on it.

I hope one day you will write a book and become famous. Or maybe you could sell personalized, weekly menus—all done on Wartime Rations, of course. 🙂

    • Thank you Jerry!!! 🙂 You are very kind indeed! I think the rationing provides a good foundation..
      a) Little or no processed foods & drinks
      b) Mostly wholefoods
      c) Drastically reduced meat and dairy intake
      d) Lots of wholegrains and complex carbs like potatoes, oatmeal
      e) LOTS of fresh veggies (including leafy greens) and fruit
      f) More exercise (simply walking!)

      C xxxx

  9. You look wonderful. Congratulations! Hopefully the program you’ve outlined above is enjoyable enough that it is it’s own short-term reward, which will help to keep you going until the longer term changes show up. You’re a big inspiration.

    • Thank you 🙂 Just feeling much better is good enough to keep me going…. that and now being able to wear smaller knickers. It’s good to not have to buy the biggest ones anymore! xxxxxxxxxxxx
